Employment Screening
All prospective staff are put through a rigorous pre-employment screening and only those individuals who meet our high standards are considered for employment. Our pre-employment screening includes:
- Multiple professional reference checks
- Criminal background checks
- CNA Registry check
- License and/or certification verification
- CPR certification (nurses only)
- Pre-employment physical and TB testing
- Competence testing

North Shore PRN employs:

Registered Nurses (RNs) & Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
Our RNs and LPNs are available to provide skilled nursing care.
RNs & LPNs provide:
- Skilled nursing assessments & care
- Liaison between client, physician, and family members to establish
a plan of care - Complete medication management
- IV maintenance
- Wound care
- Feeding tube maintenance
- Teaching and assisting client and family
Our staff of licensed personnel are graduates of an accredited school of nursing and their license is verified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Certified Home Health Aides (CHHAs)
Under a professional care plan established by a Registered Nurse, Home Health Aides provide care for clients whose health status is unstable and/or who require skilled professional services. Home Health Aides provide personal care, as well as monitor vital signs and perform other healthcare services as directed by the supervising Registered Nurse.
Home Health Aides provide assistance with:
- Personal care
- Ambulating
- Meal preparation
- Light housekeeping
- Shopping
- Errands
- Appointments
- Medication reminders
North Shore PRN, Inc. requires all of our Home Health Aides to have completed an 80-hour certification course approved by the Massachusetts Association of Homemakers and Health Aides. In addition, it is required for all Home Health Aides to attend a minimum of 12 educational in-services a year to maintain their certification.
